Frequently Asked Questions

This Is Me offers online neurodevelopmental psychoeducation and relational family support for families living with sensitivity, intensity and neurodiversity.

No. This Is Me does not provide psychotherapy, counselling, diagnosis, or any mental health treatment.

No, we do not offer diagnostic services.

We work with bright, sensitive, intense, complex or neurodivergent children and young people (approximately ages 8–21), parents, caregivers and families based in the UK and internationally.

Yes. Parent psychoeducation, guidance and support is an integral part of This Is Me, however parents are not required to attend every session. Some sessions are solely for the child and some are solely for the parents or caregivers. We may also suggest sessions for the whole family.

This depends on the family's requirements and our capacity. Our work together is reviewed regularly with families. We recognise that families who request ongoing support as their child develops, value the continuity, trust and depth  of a collaborative and supportive long-term relational family support service. Where possible and if it is beneficial to the child and family, This Is Me may continue to work alongside families supporting children long term through developmental stages and important life transitions. Supporting children living with complexity is not easy and it does take a specialised and committed team sometimes.

Absolutely, yes. Our service is offered entirely online and families from different countries and cultures are warmly welcomed. Our Neurodevelopmental Children and Family Specialist, Radhika Rajbans, has extensive lived and professional experience of international education systems and different cultures. Her approach to working with cultural differences is nuanced, respectful, inclusive and adaptable.

Sessions take place via secure video call and are a combination of child only, parent-only or family sessions. Sessions typically last for one hour, but do not have to take place on the same day or time. We require families to be in a quiet and private space during sessions. Child sessions may include creative activities or games. Child and family sessions may include self and co regulation practises. Neurodevelopmental psychoeducation is provided using age appropriate terms and is delivered in formats that are informative and engaging.

This Is Me does not provide therapy and is not a crisis service. Families will be supported to seek emergency support services or appropriate clinical or therapeutic services where needed.
